1. Our Library must remain a venue for open inquiry and intellectual stimulation for all people.
2. Our Library must remain on the cutting edge of technology while still preserving books.
3. Our Library must be a Critical Community Hub where all people from the Community can access our library's resources while also being provided a welcoming gathering space for various groups and events.
4. Our Library must be Accessible to all the residents of the library regardless of ability, race, creed, color or orientation.
5. Our Library must be considered a Safe Space that is sensitive to residents of Aurora.
6. My Goal is to Expand the library's reach geographically by expanding the district wherever possible,
while also exploring the creation of new branches of the library recognizing the growth of the southwest and south east sides of the district.
7. My Goal is to ensure a Responsible budget with transparency and strategic plan with input from all those in the
library district.
8. My Goal is to ensure special emphasis on children and teenagers while making our library a place where both
parents and public schools see the our public library as a valuable learning resource for kids which means expanding
programming for children through creating deeper strategic partnerships throughout our community.
9. My Goal is to have our library become a central hub for promoting literacy in our community which would include
classes for learners of all ages who want to learn or improve their reading skills... or who want to learn English
and/or Spanish
10. My Goal is to ensure our library is always providing culturally centered programming that reflects the history and
diversity of the City of Aurora by providing enhanced monthly programming to include speaker series, local scholars, and book clubs.
